Christmas Gift Guide and Stocking Stuffers – For the Garage Gym

Whether you are looking to start your garage gym or just adding more to an established one – I’ve got you covered! **This post may contain affiliate links. A small commission may be earned.**

Since the pandemic and then becoming parents we have been working on our garage gym! The goal is to have everything we need to be able to get a good workout in, with the chaos of kids. We started with just sandbags and resistance bands – and you really can get a good workout in, even with just that. But this list is created from our favorites or what’s on our wishlist!

Just Starting Out
Sandbag – We have the Brute Force brand and they have lasted us since 2020, well worth the money! I did find this other sandbag for a cheaper alternative.
Resistance Bands – A good set of long resistance bands and I love the cloth ones for legs. You can really get a good body workout in with just these.
Yoga Mat – It’s always nice to have a place to be able to lay for certain exercises.
Kettlebell Set – Kettlebells are so nice and versatile when it comes to lightweight workouts. Definitely handy to have in a home gym.
Dumbbell Set – Just start your collection and continue to add when you can. I’ve never loved the adjustable dumbbells so we stick to just investing in heavier weights when we can.

Adding More…
Horse Stall Mats – Once you start expanding your garage gym, these are perfect to lay down first and then have your bench and weight storage on them!
Bench – So handy to have once you start adding more weights to your collection.
Adjustable Bench – This one is perfect to use for so many exercises.
Kettlebells and Dumbbells – Great to keep adding to your collection when you can.
Rower – We prefer this to a treadmill, but both have great cardiovascular benefits! Rowers can be very basic and therefore inexpensive and great for a starting out garage gym!
Weight Storage – Once you keep adding to your collection we loved adding a weight storage to keep them off the ground.
Treadmill – We don’t have one, but if I were to buy one – I’d want one that can do the incline pretty high. If I only have a treadmill my favorite workout is to do an incline walk (but our favorite cardio machine is the stairstepper).

Dream Garage Gym
Squat Rack and Bumpers– We would love the addition of a squat rack – this is the one we’ve been eyeing.
Smith Squat Rack – This is more expensive but would be so good if you’re often working out alone.
Squat Rack Floor
Stairclimbing – As I mentioned above, the stairstepper is our favorite cardio! Most bang for your buck.
