If you’ve been wanting cleaner air in your home but don’t want a bulky eyesore or another high-maintenance gadget, the new Canopy Air Purifier might be the one that finally makes sense. It’s basically a reimagined purifier, designed with actual real-life use, maintenance, and low-tox living in mind.

I’ve been in the market for an air purifier for a long time, but so many of them are huge, awkwardly shaped, or way too complicated to keep clean. I also really don’t want something that relies on an app or WiFi. I want to walk over, push a button, and have it work, no remote, no setup, no glitchy tech. So when I saw Canopy was launching their own, I was immediately interested. And because it’s Canopy, I know they thought through every detail. Their humidifier was the first one I’ve used that could use tap water and wasn’t impossible to clean.

Why even use an air purifier?
There are so many reasons to have one in your home, especially if you’re trying to reduce allergens, improve air quality, or create a more low-tox space. For us, dust and pet dander were the two biggest triggers. An air purifier helps filter out those particles along with pollen, smoke, and other pollutants so the air actually feels and smells cleaner. It also cuts down on dust buildup in the house, which I will never complain about.
My husband also has asthma, and cleaner air makes a noticeable difference for his breathing. If you’ve got allergies, asthma, pets, kids, or just want to reduce pollutants at home, an air purifier is one of the easiest swaps you can make.
What makes the Canopy Air Purifier different?
Here’s everything that sold me:
- Multi-stage True HEPA filtration removes up to 99.97% of dust, pollen, smoke, and microscopic particles (as small as 0.3 microns). So you’re not just masking odors, you’re actually cleaning the air.
- Compact and portable: It can sit upright or lay flat on a dresser, nightstand, or tucked in a corner (even under a bed/desk). It has a built-in handle and is super lightweight, so you can move it around easily.
- Stacks with the Canopy Humidifier: It literally sits right on top of the humidifier and can run from the same outlet with the jumper cord. No cluttered nightstands, no extra plugs.
- “No-touch” filter changes: You pull a little lever button and the dirty filter drops straight into the trash. No dust cloud in your face, no shaking it out over the sink.
Filters last around six months and the parts are dishwasher-safe. - Smart air quality sensor: It automatically adjusts the fan speed if it detects smoke, allergens, or pollutants. You don’t have to guess what setting to use.
- Sleep mode: At night, the display dims on its own and the fan runs whisper quiet at 17.5 dB. You can also use the optional night light or red light if you like sleep-friendly lighting.
- Built-in aroma diffuser: You can diffuse clean, non-toxic scents while it purifies. Such a good alternative to candles and air fresheners. My favorite scents from Canopy are the Coastals Bundle and Salt Cave.
Who is this air purifier good for?
Honestly, anyone trying to breathe cleaner air without buying a giant machine. It’s especially great for:
- Families with kids or pets
- People with asthma or allergies
- Dry climates or wildfire season
- Low-tox or fragrance-free households
- Bedrooms, playrooms, nurseries, and shared living spaces
It currently lives in our bedroom, but I’m grabbing another one for the living room since we spend most of our time downstairs. It actually looks cute out in the open, so you don’t have to hide it.
My experience after a few months…

I actually was asked to test this before it launched and give feedback for three months, which was such a fun surprise since I’m already a Canopy fan.
Here are my thoughts:
Setup was my love language: plug it in and done. No app, no connecting, no WiFi situation. The compact size is perfect, and stacked with my humidifier it looks sleek instead of cluttered. The jumper cord so both run from one outlet is genius.
You already know I’m big on reducing toxins at home, so the built-in diffuser is a huge perk. I can keep things smelling fresh without candles or sprays.
And the sensor works so well. I’ve literally watched it turn red and speed up when my husband smokes up the kitchen while cooking. It clears the air without me doing anything.

What I would add or change…
If I had to pick one thing I’d love to see in the future, it would be a second size option. Our downstairs is an open-concept living room and kitchen, and while I think this one will still do a great job, a slightly larger option made for bigger spaces would be amazing. I may just end up changing the filter a little more often than the recommended 6 months, which isn’t a big deal, but a “large room” version would be so nice.
I have Canopy’s Large Room Humidifier downstairs already so an air purifier that stacked under that humidifier would be perfection.
Why pair an air purifier and a humidifier?
Having both has made such a difference, especially with kids and allergies in the mix. The purifier cleans the air and keeps pollutants from circulating, and the humidifier adds clean moisture back in so the air isn’t dry or irritating.
The combo is amazing for:
- Bedrooms and kids’ rooms
- Cold, flu, and wildfire seasons
- Dry climates or heated indoor air
- Asthma, eczema, or sinus irritation
- Overall immune support
Cleaner air + proper moisture = healthier lungs, better sleep, and way less irritation. I honestly use my humidifier year round for the different benefits and now the air purifier will sit underneath it and run year round as well.
