If your toddler is anything like mine, then bubble play, messy potions, and silly splashes are basically a core personality trait. That’s exactly why this Halloween-themed bath time is such a hit in our house—it’s simple, sensory, and full of magic (aka foam, lights, and color)!
First Things First: Better Bath Water
Before we jump into the Halloween fun, I have to share something that’s made the biggest difference in our baths: the Canopy Bath Filter (my link gets you 15% off!).

If your little one has sensitive skin (like mine), you probably know that bath time can sometimes cause irritation. Chlorine and hard water can leave skin feeling itchy, dry, or trigger eczema flare-ups. That’s why we added this low-tox bath filter to our tub—and it’s been a total game changer.
The Canopy Bath Filter reduces chlorine, heavy metals, and impurities so your toddler can splash in chlorine-free bath water that’s gentler on their skin. Since using it, we’ve noticed:
- Fewer dry patches
- Less post-bath irritation
- Softer, healthier skin overall
It’s super easy to use (just screw it onto your faucet!) and you replace the filter every 90 days. If you’re looking for an eczema-friendly bath solution or simply want cleaner, safer water for your kids, this is such a worthwhile swap. You can also read my full review of the Canopy Bath Filter here for all the details.
What You’ll Need for Halloween Bubble Foam:
- A hand or stand mixer
- Your favorite bubble bath or body wash (we use Tubby Todd—this link saves you 10%!)
- Bath color tablets
- Light-up toys for extra sensory fun (we’re loving these Halloween ones)
This year we used GloPals and cute little Jack-O-Lantern buckets, they were a hit!

How to Make Bubble Foam:

This part is so easy and brings the “magic” to life!
- Dissolve a couple of bath color tablets into about ½ cup of warm water.
- Add 4–6 pumps of bubble bath to the colored water.
- Using your mixer, whip it for 3–5 minutes until it turns into a meringue-like foam.
That’s it! You’ll have a fluffy, vibrant, bubbly mixture that toddlers love to scoop, pour, and mix.
How We Use It:
I like to keep the bubble foam in small containers or bowls inside the tub so my toddlers can “play potion shop” before it dissolves into the bathwater. We toss in some light-up toys and let the fun begin! It turns an ordinary bath into a sensory-rich experience with zero cleanup outside the tub.
You can also do this bubble foam play outside the bath—but let’s be honest, cleanup is 10x easier when it all stays in the tub!
Why We Love This Activity:
- Encourages imaginative play
- Builds fine motor skills through scooping and pouring
- Involves simple household items
- Adds a seasonal twist to something you already do every day
My toddlers request this one often, and it’s become a little seasonal tradition that doesn’t involve a mess in the kitchen or 30-step crafts.
