Tired moms unite. It seems like everyone on the internet today is making these beautiful loaves of bread and talking about how it “really doesn’t take that much time or effort….”

I’m a mom of two toddlers and I’m here to tell you – I don’t believe them. There is no way I’d be able to make bread by hand and not be even more overwhelmed than I already am. But two years ago I found a loop hole to having fresh bread as a mom… my bread maker!
My mom actually had one when I was a kid, but for some reason I didn’t end up with one until just a couple years ago. It’s seriously the easiest thing because you just plop your 5-7 ingredients in the tin, press the button, and then in 2-3 hours you have fresh bread. Seriously, it kneads the dough, lets it rise, and bakes it all in the little machine. It’s the best!
My favorite loaf is a cinnamon raisin loaf. I do not swirl it or anything, I just plop it all in and call it a day. I do like to weigh my flour (here’s our mini kitchen scale), it seems to give the best loaf.
Recipe:
1 cup of water
2 tbsp butter
3 cups or 360 g of flour
3 tbsp white sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
2 1/2 tsp instant yeast
3/4 cup raisins (added in the drop bin or when your bread maker alerts)
I hope you give a bread maker a chance, it’s so easy to use! But remember, you’re doing a great job. xx Ciara
