DIY Baby Milestones

These acrylic baby milestones are actually so easy to make. You can make whatever special dates you want too. **This post may contain affiliate links. A small commission may be earned.**

Newborn Baby DIY Acrylic Milestones

This project is perfect for a beginner Cricut designer! It is really easy to do and doesn’t require any layers of vinyl. You can make this as complicated as you want if you’d like an outline around the letters or if you want to add any special images for other milestones like Christmas or Birthday!

Everything you need:
Cricut (I used a Joy Xtra for this project. I absolutely love the size of this one – I also have a Maker3)
Cricut Smart Vinyl (I used gold, but I’ve also made these with white vinyl)
Transfer Tape
Cricut tools
Acrylic Discs
Matte Paint
Sponge Brush

  1. Get yourself on Cricut Design Space and create your milestones. For this part I created a 4×4 circle, then choose my font, typed my month “one month” “two months” etc and once I liked the size I moved it out the circle.
*IMPORTANT* If you are choosing a cursive font like mine, you want to make sure you click WELD this will make your letters connect. If not, you will end up with your Cricut cutting each individual letter (vs cutting the word as a whole).
  2. Once you’ve created all your months/special events, delete the 4×4 circle.
  3. Set your Cricut up and have it cut your months out.
  4. I cut around each individual month first and then peel the excess vinyl.
  5. Use your transfer tape and scraper to move the vinyl words over to the acrylic discs.
*The acrylic discs come with a protective film on each side, be sure to peel this off before placing vinyl on them.*
  6. On the back of your acrylic, use your sponge brush to create a stroke or two of paint.
*Don’t stress on perfection here, it’ll look great!
  7. Let the paint dry and you’re done!
  8. If you’d like to seal the paint or the vinyl, you can use some modpodge to do so – but I personally didn’t.

These would be the perfect nesting project for you or an easy DIY to make for a pregnant friend! I love that you’re really able to customize the colors and the theme depending on your nursery theme. Cricut design space has so many fonts to choose from you can really make this so individualized.

I hope you have so much fun making these. If you’re a pregnant mama, check out my newborn favorites here! xx Ciara
